Let me introduce you to a national hero of Argentina. His name is Andy Kusnetsoff. Yes, obvious Russian origins, family name eventually butchered when his ancestors disembarked at the Ciudad de la Santísima Trinidad y Puerto de Santa María del Buen Ayre. He’s been a reporter and radio host for almost 30 years now.
In the 1990s he worked for a satire TV show called “Caiga Quien Caiga” or CQC literally translated as “No matter who falls”, but actually meaning “Whatever it takes”. It was one of the most watched evening shows in Argentine TV back in the day.
His specialty? He was usually sent to the USA to interview movie stars on red carpets during award season. Nothing to phone home about to this point.
Now here’s the thing: he forged his credentials to get in those spots, and he snuck his way in with just good looks and lots of attitude, even giving very weird gifts to those celebrities in the spur of the moment.
“I’m not even a reporter” – that says it all.
Most incredibly, he allegedly joined some of those “after event” private parties and would film himself inside. He even became an acquaintance of Sigourney Weaver, with her even calling him by his first name, year after year.
Couldn’t find the Sigourney Weaver videos (yet), but I’ve seen them somewhere, and it was hilarious.
